Mold work in Texas is licensed, and split in two
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses mold assessors and mold remediators separately. Remediation of 25 contiguous square feet or more is licensed work, with limited exemptions for owners working on their own home.
A licensee may not do both the assessment and the remediation on the same project. If one company offers to test your house and then remove what it finds, that is not allowed in Texas.
County
Across Texas, hurricane and flood exposure, humidity and housing age differ from county to county. Each county page has the figures for its area.
