What happens when you call
No forms and no account. One call, put through to a local contractor, and this page so nothing about it is a surprise.
For homeowners. You will be connected with an independent local contractor. Calls may be recorded.
Have three answers ready
- What happened or what you found: a pipe, an appliance, a storm, a stain on the ceiling, mold behind furniture. Not knowing the cause yet is fine.
- When it started, as closely as you can tell. Last night and last spring are very different jobs.
- Whether water is still coming in. If it is, that comes first.
You will probably also be asked for the address and whether you own the home, since only the owner can authorize work on it.
Who is on the other end
The number routes your call to an independent restoration contractor that serves your area. They decide whether and when they can come out, what the job involves and what it costs. Water Damage Wise is not a contractor and does not schedule, price or perform any work.
Not what this number is for
- Bills or payments for work already done: talk to the company that invoiced you.
- A job already in progress: the crew’s own number is quicker.
- Renters: repairs go through your landlord. What to do instead.
- Basement seepage after every rain: that is usually waterproofing, a different trade.
Calls may be recorded
The network that routes calls may record them. Some states require that everyone on a call knows this, so it is stated here and under every call button.
